Frequently asked questions
The prep fee covers the standard setup and breakdown of your event, which is automatically included in your package price. This ensures that all equipment is delivered, assembled, tested, and then safely packed up and removed at the end of your event.
What else might be included in the prep fee?
If you request additional customizations, such as:
Creating a custom backdrop or layout for your photobooth
For DJ package, designing a unique playlist specifically made by Terriffics Entertainment for your event
Any other special preparation or personalization requests
These extra services will be discussed with you ahead of time and reflected in your final quote. Standard setup and breakdown are always included in the base prep fee; custom add-ons may increase the total fee depending on your needs.
You’ll receive a list of available add-ons and customization options by email after your booking inquiry.
Risk fees are automatically applied based on the theme of your event. Whatever theme you choose will have an automatic risk fee added to your event, reflecting the unique needs and potential risks of that theme. You can always update or fine-tune your event details with us, and your risk fees will be adjusted to match exactly what you’ll actually have going on at your party.
If your event goes past the agreed end time, overtime charges apply.
Overtime is billed for any time after the scheduled end time.
Any part of an hour is treated as a full hour.
Events that go past midnight may be charged at a higher late-night overtime rate.
Overtime details are included in your quote and final invoice.
Definitely! Risk fees are based on your chosen party theme, but you’re welcome to work with us to update your event details. This way, the risk fees reflect only what will actually happen at your celebration.
Still have questions? Reach out by phone or email for personalized support and a full breakdown of your event’s fees. We’re here to help make your celebration easy and worry-free.
There are two different additional hour fees to reflect the staffing needs and complexity of your event:
$105 per additional hour applies to Basic, Deluxe, and some Premium packages, or for custom-made packages that do not require a subcontractor. These are handled directly by Terriffics Entertainment’s owner/manager.
$160 per additional hour applies when a subcontractor is required. This is typically the case for DJ, Photobooth, or Karaoke packages that need a subcontractor, if your event requires running multiple equipment setups simultaneously (instead of in sequence), or if the owner cannot be at two locations at once. The higher fee covers some of the subcontractor pay and related costs. (Premium DJ and Deluxe Movie Night Package need subcontractor)
Because subcontractor help is sometimes needed, overall prices for certain services or events may be higher to ensure proper staffing and smooth event execution.
This fee structure ensures fair compensation and transparent pricing. If you’re unsure which fee applies to your event, just ask when booking!
Yes, risk and labor fees are automatically calculated and applied based on the theme and setup requirements of your event. For example, events like weddings, graduations, and birthdays often involve unique setups—such as large venues, multiple floors, or outdoor locations—that may require extra effort or special safety precautions. These factors are considered when preparing your quote, so any necessary risk or labor fees will be included upfront.
If you feel a fee doesn’t match your actual event setup, you can absolutely dispute it! Just let us know before your event, and we’ll review the details together. We want every charge to be fair and transparent, so we’re always happy to clarify or adjust fees if needed.
Risk and labor fees are extra charges that may apply when your event setup involves additional effort or potential hazards beyond our standard service. Examples include carrying heavy equipment up stairs, navigating steep slopes, working in tight or unsafe spaces, or handling setups during inclement weather.
If your event location requires more than the usual effort—like moving gear up flights of stairs or through challenging terrain—both a labor fee (for the extra work) and a risk fee (for added safety concerns) may apply. These fees are always quoted in advance, so you’ll know exactly what to expect before confirming your booking.
We’re committed to being transparent about all costs and ensuring your event goes smoothly and safely for everyone involved!
A risk fee may apply if your event involves:
Outdoor setups with high wind, rain, or excessive heat
Difficult access (upper floors, no elevator, muddy or remote locations, limited parking)
High-traffic or high-crime areas
Extended event hours (late-night or early-morning setups/teardowns)
Events requiring driving between 10:00 PM and 6:00 AM (due to increased risk from DUI drivers, glare from headlights, and reduced awareness)
Any other situation that increases the likelihood of equipment damage or loss
If our staff or subcontractors park in a location that you or the venue direct or approve, and our vehicle is towed, ticketed, vandalized, or stolen:
The host/client is responsible for all related costs, losses, or damages.
Terriffics Entertainment is not responsible for towing fees, tickets, vandalism, theft, or vehicle damage when parking instructions are given by the host/client or venue.
These costs must be paid within the timeframe stated in our notice.
If our vehicle is unavailable because of towing, vandalism, theft, or similar loss, the client is also responsible for the reasonable cost of a rental vehicle or equivalent transportation needed for us to continue operating and servicing events during that period.
No. All applicable fees, surcharges, and taxes are:
Reviewed with you during the booking process
Clearly listed in your written quote before you confirm
Shown again on your final invoice
If a condition applies (distance, stairs, outdoor, late-night, holidays, etc.), it will be explained and documented upfront.
